COT South Walton Celebration April 2021

South Walton COT held a combined Awaken Celebration / Farewell Party / Volunteer Appreciation Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Light snacks and beverages were served, but site-member Linda Michl baked a cobbler for us as well. After Site Director Emily Proctor's opening remarks, site-member Susannah McGuire read her take on Dr Seuss's "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" for our honorees. Remote attendee and Leadership Team-member Tommy Fairweather introduced our lone Awaken graduate from 2020, Irene Fowlkes, who spoke about her journey. Site Coordinator John Box then introduced volunteer and former LT-member Kate Smart, who is leaving us to live with her son in Ft Worth. Kate gave a talk about the importance of COT. Irene and Kate received gifts in "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" totes. Emily also gave certificates of appreciation to site-members who were nominated for Outstanding Volunteer. Finally, LT-member and Awaken facilitator CC Whittinghill surprised Kate with South Walton's award for Outstanding Volunteer.
